Why choose corten steel products?
Corten steel, also known as weathering steel, has many advantages — here are some of the key ones:
Weather Resistance:
Corten steel is known for its exceptional resistance to weather conditions. When exposed to the elements, it forms a protective rust layer that acts as a barrier against further corrosion. This makes it ideal for outdoor structures and art installations.Low Maintenance:
Thanks to its self-protecting rust layer, Corten steel requires minimal maintenance. It doesn’t need painting or protective coatings, which saves both time and money in the long run.Durability:
Corten steel’s longevity often surpasses that of traditional steel. It can withstand harsh weather conditions, making it perfect for architectural projects, sculptures, and outdoor furniture.Aesthetic Appeal:
With its unique, earthy, rusted tones, Corten steel offers a distinctive look for various applications. Its natural, evolving appearance is highly valued by architects and designers.Strength and Structural Integrity:
Even with the formation of its rust layer, Corten steel retains its structural integrity and strength, making it suitable for both structural and architectural purposes.

Corten Steel Patina Transformation: From 2 Weeks to 10 Months
Corten steel is a weather-resistant material that naturally develops a unique rust-like patina over time. This process occurs gradually and depends on environmental conditions.
After 2 weeks:
The surface begins to change – the first light brown and orange tones appear, and the texture becomes matte.
After 1–3 months:
The color deepens, revealing warm brown and orange shades, while the surface becomes more uniform.
After 6 months:
A durable oxidation layer forms, protecting the metal from further corrosion. The tone becomes richer and darker brown shades dominate.
After 10 months and beyond:
The patina reaches its final stage – a deep, natural rust tone that stabilizes and changes very little over time. The surface becomes consistent and long-lasting.
The patina development process may vary depending on climate factors such as humidity, precipitation, and sunlight.
To accelerate the process, special patina-enhancing methods can be used.
Corten steel is not only durable but also an aesthetically striking material, adding unique character to both interior and exterior designs.
